Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help the website remember things like whether you are logged in and what preferences you have set.
PVG Pal uses only essential cookies — the bare minimum needed to make the web dashboard work. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| pvgpal_session | Keeps you logged in while you use the web dashboard. Without this cookie, you would need to sign in on every page. | Essential (strictly necessary) | When you close your browser, or after 7 days of inactivity |
| pvgpal_prefs | Remembers your dashboard preferences — for example, which columns you have visible in the volunteer table, and your last-viewed filter settings. | Essential (functional) | 1 year |
| pvgpal_cookie_consent | Records that you have seen and responded to the cookie banner, so we do not show it again on every visit. | Essential (strictly necessary) | 1 year |
On your first visit to the PVG Pal web dashboard or marketing site, you will see a cookie banner. Because we only use essential cookies, the default option is "Accept essential cookies." There is also a "Manage preferences" option, but since all our cookies are strictly necessary, there is nothing to switch off — the option is provided for transparency.
The PVG Pal mobile app (iOS and Android) does not use cookies. It uses standard mobile app storage (secure local storage on your device) for session management and preferences. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. However, if you block essential cookies, the PVG Pal web dashboard will not work properly — you may be unable to stay logged in or save your preferences.
For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser's help pages or allaboutcookies.org.
